i-Mibac - Top 40
i-MiBAC it's an innovative project which brings Italian momuments and sites into the new possibilities disclosed by internet mobile technologies.
The Ministero per i Beni e le Attività Culturali realised a very accurate application for smartphones (at the moment avalaible for iPhones, iPodTouch and iPad. Soon also for other smartphones) which allows to connect with all the information about a specific monument or site and the activities held there.
i-MiBAC is free and the download is avalaible directly from the AppStore.
These the features of i-MiBAC:
- a map of Italy with all the monuments listed on i-MiBAC;
- info about opening/closing time, web sites addresses, contacts, guided tours timestable, and a brief comment about the site. A dedicated gallery (avalaible in "details") shows a collection of pictures about the monument;
- cultural itineraries which display sites less known and give advices for touring a particular place;
- a section dedicated to morphing which rebuilds the monuments or shows how a masterpiece changes during a restauration work;
- a music selection (different for every site), which may play as a backgroud during the visit of a monument;
- tickets purchase avalaible: the ticket is directly downloaded into your phone. No need to print it nor to exchange it in the ticket office: your phone will lead you right to the entrance of the museum.
